In New South Wales, home modification is structured in three levels, according to the complexity and cost of the specified modifications.
| Level | Range | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | To $5,000 | Sutherland Shire HMMS |
| Level 2 | $5,000 to $20,000 | Regional HMS |
| Level 3 | $20,000 and above | State-wide HMS |
There is a $2,000 household limit on maintenance work.
Applications for all levels of service are through Sutherland Shire Home Modification and Maintenance Service.
